Madison & Ben
Ben and Madison wanted a wedding that blended the classic and timeless with a modern feel. The industrial inner-city location, romantic lighting and beautiful florals helped them achieve this dream. Madison shares the details of their reception…
We wanted a classic clean look so all the flowers were white, from our bouquets, to the hanging flowers in the reception venue. Instead of flowers on the tables, we wanted all the flowers to be above our heads, and intertwined with fairy lights. We had big chandeliers in the entrance of the room, hundreds of tea lights and different sized glass vases down the three long tables, which sat 30 each.
The colour scheme carried through to our white and gold invites and guest book, the clear name cards, and the white B & M love heart cookies with flecks of gold as the favours. We wanted to include wedding fun, so advice cards were placed on each plate with a ‘Ben and Maddie tied the knot’ pencil attached to it, to encourage conversation between the guests before we got there.
While everyone snacked on beautiful cheese boards and sipped Champagne, the bridal party had our photos taken; first at an old train station in the city, and as the sun was about to set we went to an empty carpark building that had fairy lights hanging against a cool concrete wall.
We arrived back at the venue and sat down to an amazing family-style meal, and a stunning dessert table really added to the look of the room. We hired brown leather couches, which were great for photos and also a nice resting spot for guests.
Our DJ had everyone dancing well into the night, including a modern line dance that got every guest involved. As the night ended, I left the building wrapped up in my ‘Mrs Tavae’ denim jacket and my white vans, and we both agreed that it was the best day we’d ever had!
