This French-inspired wedding style leaned into earthy elegance in an inner-city venue, where natural shades straight from the earth were coupled with modern details in the florals, stationery and decor.

The shoot was conceived by Jade of Willow and Sage Botanics, in collaboration with Olivia Melhop Photography, and a range of both established and up and coming vendors in the Wellington region.

“The venue Whisky and Wood provided a timeless yet earthy and modern backdrop with its original brick walls and the grandeur of a vast ceremony and reception space. Perfect for a winter wedding to escape the elements or a summer one out of the harsh sun. The ceremony and reception setting was followed by a location portrait session across town, selected specifically to pick up on the green tones used throughout the shoot. Showing that you really can have it all when you have a wedding venue conveniently located in the CBD.

“Our bride Alana was dressed in two Astra Bridal gowns, one an elegant slim fit and the other with a dramatic skirt. The movement of the latter captured so keenly by Aaron and Isabel films. Paired with pearl and gold Crystal and Cord Jewellery for a timeless look, she looked every bit the blushing bride with a deep red lip and glamorous up do by Alana MUHA, next to groom George. Who was styled in two Mandatory suits; a versatile grey check followed by the age old classic black tux both featuring exquisite craftsmanship in every element.

The florals were carefully selected and leant into the trending wildflower style. A lush and loose bouquet, delicate ceremony set up and pared back approach to the table florals, truly brought the earthy elegance vibe to life. Not to mention even more gorgeous florals featured on the Grace Patisserie cake. The table settings embraced tradition with delicate cutlery and modern curved stationery designs by Sunday Morning Studio.
