Annabelle & Ryan
Under a Kauri grove in the Tairua forest, Annabelle & Ryan were married in a beautiful ceremony complete with special touches and the most gorgeous oversized bouquets! Annabelle shares details from their magical day…
After six years and having a son together, Ryan and I got married in March at my mother’s farm in the Coromandel, overlooking Whenuakite’s stunning rolling hills. Our reception followed at a restaurant in the nearby town of Whitianga.
After much concern about the weather, it changed at the last minute and we had a magical ceremony and reception without a drop of rain. Everything went perfectly and I couldn’t have asked for a more special and intimate ceremony with our beloved family and friends.
I took much joy in styling my own wedding as I have a love for all things bohemian and rustic and have a dream of being a wedding stylist. I chose my dusty blue, red, white and green flowers and foliage to represent my nana’s garden that I grew up dancing around. My mother’s horses were dressed in big lush floral wreaths hanging around their necks.
One of my dear friends and bridesmaid designed and applied my henna on my hand as a unique personal touch.
The seating and rugs were all hired, with the exception of the rug we were married on, which belonged to my grandmother and is one of my treasures in my growing antique collection.
I wouldn’t change a thing from my special day – it was absolute magic!
