Areshma & Raghav
Our love story began in 2013 when Raghav and I started chatting the old fashion way, online via Facebook and emails. We both went to the same high school together but didn’t talk to each other until school officially finished. We spoke online for a couple of months until we met in person, and our relationship grew.
Raghav and I both completed our bachelor’s degrees from Auckland University of Technology and spent our early years dating in university in our early 20s. We both grew together, spent our university time together and supported each other in our goals and life ambitions.
Raghav being from Chandigarh, India, and I being from Suva, Fiji, has made our relationship enjoyable. We both enjoy each other’s backgrounds in cooking too. We have the best of both worlds, mixed with variety, and our families are great fun. Raghav and I love trying out new things, whether travelling or food. We have travelled to numerous countries, such as Thailand, Singapore, China, etc., and have enjoyed every moment of life together.
On February 5th we got married. It was the only date available, and I am happy we chose this auspicious day to start our new chapter in life together. Such an amazing coincidence we got to celebrate this special day as it marks nine years together.
Our wedding took place at the Markovina Vineyard Estate among tall, luscious palm trees. Light pink flower petals were sprinkled down the aisle leading to the mandap, a four-pillar structure altar structure used in Hindu weddings. The mandap was decorated with fresh pink roses, white hydrangeas and greenery paired with blush chiffon draping and white and gold hand-painted Indian furniture.
It has been a marvellous and unforgettable journey with my love for the past nine years, and I can’t believe we are now husband and wife. We are grateful we could plan our wedding during covid without rescheduling it. We are blessed to be surrounded by fantastic family and friends, and we couldn’t have done this unique pink floral wedding without their support. Our wedding day was one of the best days of our lives.
