Our wedding day really was a dream come true. We arrived at our wedding venue on the Friday before the wedding, and were surrounded by our family and closest friends. Fine dining poolside at the homestead was the most perfect way to spend the night before the big day.
A homestead wedding was always my dream – there’s something special about old character homes, beautiful gardens, green grass, roses of every sort and a beautiful rural setting.
We woke up on Saturday to blue sky and the sun shining. The girls and I started getting ready, and I took a moment and just sat there quietly apon the window seat and watched my wedding dreams come together.
Our ceremony was so beautiful. Under the shady trees of the homestead we stood and said ‘I do’ to a lifetime of happiness. Behind us stood a wooden arch with beautiful florals and chiffon fabric that was flowing in the breeze. There were rows of perspex ghost chairs for our guests to sit and be present in the special moment of us becoming husband and wife . Our personal vows really made the ceremony so special, sealed with a kiss, then the confetti was popping and there were smiles all around.
The front lawn was styled with the most amazing pink and grey velvet lounges, umbrellas to provide shade and gorgeous golden round tables to tie it all in. Later on these lounge set ups provided the perfect place for our guests to lounge, relax, nibble canapés and drink from our open bar.
The love light was a perfect finishing touch to our special day. We loved seeing our guests posing and taking selfies in front of it. And later in the evening it lit the marquee and shined very bright. It really was a highlight piece.
The atmosphere was perfect! Bubbles were flowing and canapés were going. The homestead’s kitchen provided a real fine dining experience for our guests.
Inside our marquee there was a silk ceiling and walls, twinkling fairy lights and round tables where we were so excited to sit and share a meal with our loved ones. The tables were styled by Idoglamour – all white tables, with rose gold candelabras, glass candles, greenery, rose gold cutlery and grey napkins, all setting the elegant glam feel. Candles lit, fine dining begun, many bubbles and beers consumed and then onto the speeches.
After many laughs and a few tears it was time for the first dance. Us newlyweds set upon creating the mood and then followed family and friends. With the DJ playing our favourite songs we began dancing the night away.
The day ran so smoothly, it really was a day full of love, laughter and perfection if I do say so myself. Our guests left feeling happy, full of champagne and fine dining and with smiles on their faces. We couldn’t have asked for a better wedding day, it was the fairlytale beginning we had hoped for and our hearts felt full after such a magical day!
