Kate & Hamish
With a stunning rural setting and picturesque outlook, Kate and Hamish exchanged vows in front of family and friends in a relaxed but moving ceremony, before partying the night away with good food, drinks and music!
‘We were very fortunate to hold our wedding at my parents’ farm in Mangaweka. Their property lines the white cliffs of the Rangitikei River and has breathtaking views. We were also super lucky for a perfect summers day!
We are pretty chilled out people, so we opted for a relaxed, cocktail-style wedding that focused on three main things that we love most in life – great food, great tunes and great booze.
The majority of the styling of our wedding came from Alice at Flock Events; she created a beautiful ceremony and reception space for our guests and we still get comments on how beautiful the cocktail areas were. We focused on soft textures and rustic earthy tones, and the whole day turned out beautifully.
Our favourite moment of the day was when we both locked eyes walking down the aisle – we couldn’t wipe the cheesy grins off our faces!
Another highlight was when Hamish’s whanau did a very moving haka. It was so special to us and had the majority of our guests holding back tears.
We think investing in good photography and videography is the best thing you can do on your wedding day. We were lucky enough to have David Le and Ben from Sink or Surface capture our day, and they also gave us such good advice as we had no idea what we were doing and had our bridal party in stitches the whole day!’
