The seahorse – Taylors’ symbol of quality and commitment to sustainability

Taylors discovered fossilised seahorses while digging their first vineyard dam, a remnant of an ancient inland sea. Today, each Taylors wine features a unique seahorse emblem, symbolising sustainability. As a family-owned wine company for over 50 years, Taylors prioritises responsible practices. The seahorse also appears on Promised Land labels, representing quality and their partnership with Project Seahorse, a marine conservation initiative. This project highlights that saving seahorses benefits other marine species through protected areas and regulated fishing practices. Purchases of Taylors Promised Land wines support their "promise to the seas" and the "Unscrew the Ocean" campaign. Justin Taylor, third-generation family member, Taylors Wines Company Director, said: “We’re thrilled to introduce Taylors Promised Land Chardonnay and Rosé to the New Zealand market.  In addition to providing wine lovers with a fabulous wine at a great price point, our Promised Land range of wines help to support our sustainability efforts with our partners at Project Seahorse. Great wine for an amazing cause – a win on all fronts.”
